Fortescue has signed a US$400 million deal with Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG), China’s largest construction machinery manufacturer, to supply over 100 zero-emission mining vehicles.
The machinery, including electric wheel loaders, dozers, and water carts, will support Fortescue's goal of achieving net-zero emissions in the Pilbara by 2030.
Deliveries are set to begin in 2026. Fortescue CEO Dino Otranto highlighted the partnership as a critical step in the company's decarbonization efforts, while XCMG Chairman Yang Dongsheng emphasized its alignment with sustainable and green development initiatives.
